A Day in St Louis

Posted by Angela @ farragio on Tuesday, December 4, 2012 Under: travel

Last fall my daughter and her Korean friend Heaven (her American nickname), who was an exchange student at their university, came home for an impromptu weekend visit.  We had a lot of fun showing Heaven around our city.

Heaven had never been to St. Louis so of course we had to show her the Arch.

Heaven explained that in Korea instead of saying "cheese" when having your picture taken you say "kimchi" (kim chee) while making a peace sign.

I think Heaven was having a good time!

Beneath the Arch is a great history museum with lots of exhibits and historical information.  If you ever get a chance to go it's a great place to learn about our country.  These are a few snapshots I took while we walked around.

Then we headed to the St. Louis Zoo.

My daughter and I tried a little "kimchi"

The fall is the perfect time of year to go to the zoo.  Because of the mild weather the animals are out and about instead of hiding in their dens like they do in the brutal heat of summer.

We had a wonderful time and it was fun seeing Heaven enjoy a bit of our country.
Maybe some day we'll get to visit hers.
