Homemade Pasta Sauce

I prefer making my own pasta sauce and what I love about this sauce is that it can be used for pasta dishes or as a pizza sauce, and it keeps for a few weeks in the refrigerator so it's a great go-to sauce if you need something in a hurry.

Homemade Pasta & Pizza Sauce


Ingredients
2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
1 (14.5 oz.) can diced tomatoes, drained (if wine is omitted, do not drain.)
1/2 cup red wine (merlot, cabernet, whatever you may have on hand. This can be omitted.)
1/2 Tbs. onion powder
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 Tbs. olive oil
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/4 cup parsley flakes
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. basil
1/2 tsp. oregano
1/4 tsp. black pepper
1/8 tsp. red pepper flakes

Directions
Combine all ingredients in plastic or glass container and store in refrigerator.
