I'm not sure how many days of 100+ degree weather we've had.  I could research it, but the heat's made me kind of lazy, and I don't think I want to know the answer anyway.

It also has been weeks since we've had rain.  Possibly even months.  I could research that, too, but I definitely don't want to know the answer to that.  And really all I have to do is look at our yard for the answer.....

Scrub grass may be annoying when you're trying to have a nice lawn, but at least in a drought it offers up some green color.

Under our deck where the sun isn't so brutal some green grass has managed to survive but the ground is cracking from the heat and lack of rain.

Yesterday evening I happened to look out the window and saw this hopeful sight.....

When I was a little girl my grandma told me that the rays are from the sun gathering up water and that it would rain soon.

She may have just been telling me tales, but she and my grandpa were farmers so I'm guessing she knew what she was talking about.  At least let's hope so!
