It has been said that the word “fear” could really be an acronym for “false expectations appearing real”; meaning that what we fear usually isn’t as bad as we think.

But what happens when those expectations turn out to be as we expected?

When facing a new challenge or situation I try to first stop and think, “What is the worst that can happen?” Then I think about what would be the best way to handle it.

Most times my worst fears are never realized, but if on the rare occasion the worst really does happen I’m better prepared to tackle it.

A little forethought in any situation is a good thing.
