70s Cocktails

Some of my fondest memories are of my mom and dad having outdoor parties during warm summer evenings replete with a fully stocked bar and disco music piped through built-in speakers around the patio.  Afterall, it was the 70's.  I would sneak downstairs from my bedroom to watch grown ups in their polyester finest dancing to disco, ordering up cocktails at the bar, and laughing and having a good time.

Cranberry Recipes

Cranberry sauce is a traditional Thanksgiving dish but for some reason I've never tasted it.  I'm planning on trying it this Thanksgiving and I started wondering what other cranberry dishes are out there.  I've searched the internet for some interesting cranberry recipes and thought I would share a few that I have found.....

DIY Framing Art

Many years ago I fell in love with this print of "Wild Rose Berries" by Pauline Eble Campanelli that I had seen at an art gallery and my sweet husband surprised me with it on my birthday that year.  As much as I loved the print I never got around to hanging it up because to have it framed would have cost more than the print and I just couldn't bring myself to spend the money.  And so it got stored away with the hope that I would someday frame it.

A Fun Day At The Winery

We recently got together with some friends at Persimmon Ridge Winery.  It's a great little winery tucked away in the woods, a real hidden gem.




The road leading to the winery makes for an interesting drive.  Lots of local color.




The entrance to the winery is beautiful.




It's fun driving right through the vineyards and getting a close-up look.




They have a great selection of wines.  My favorite is the Norton, a distinctive, dry red wine made from Missouri's state grape.
