TOOL OF THE TRADE - BLACK & DECKER IRON

Black & Decker Iron

As I work on making bags there are some tools that are indispensable to me. They're not very glamorous but they get the job done quickly and efficiently and that's what is most important. Today I'm featuring my new Black & Decker Auto-Off Iron.

Okay, I'm weird. I actually like to iron. And after buying this iron I like ironing even more. There are more expensive models out there but for just $19.95, this is a great iron at a great price.

The fact that it automatically turns off is of utmost importance, because when I'm engrossed in a project I tend to be forgetful. Now I don't have to worry about forgetting to turn the iron off.

The stainless steel soleplate glides so smoothly over fabric and the vertical steam feature is a great bonus when I need to get wrinkles out of a finished item that doesn't lay flat.

The auto-clean feature is another great asset. We have hard water where I live so any little help keeping the iron clean is invaluable.

What tools of the trade are indispensable in your line of work?
