Water Does A Body Good

In honor of June 23 being National Hydration Day, this is a repost about the benefits of water.

There is debate on how much water one needs to drink each day. Traditionally, it's been recommended that a person should drink eight 8-oz glasses (64 oz) of water each day. Our bodies are 60% water so it stands to reason that we need to keep our bodies hydrated. But recently it's been argued that since the body derives water from other sources, such as fruits and vegetables, it's not necessary to drink 64 ounces of water a day.

Whether you adhere to the old-school idea of 64 ounces of water a day or not, do try to drink water during the day, especially instead of colas and other artificial drinks. It can't help but do a body good. I know I feel much better when I drink 64 ounces of water a day. My skin feels hydrated, my hair is softer, I don't eat as much at meals, and I just feel generally healthier.
