PLATFORM BED DIY

Posted by Angela @ farragio on Saturday, June 17, 2017, In : diy

Would you like a platform bed without the expense? All you need is a black fitted sheet and some black card stock.

I was tired of the bed skirt on our bed so I took it off and put a black fitted sheet on the box spring, but I needed a way to hide the unattractive castors of the bed frame.

After noodling on a solution for a while I came up with the idea of taking four pieces of black card stock for the four legs of the bed frame, trimming them to the proper height, and folding them...

DIY QUICK TIP - HANGING CURTAINS

Posted by Angela @ farragio on Friday, April 28, 2017, In : diy

To say I'm obsessed with 3M™ Command™ products is an understatement. I use them for everything. This time I used the Large Brushed Nickel Hooks and some cafe rods to hang valances. It's super-easy to hang any lightweight curtain or valance and, my favorite part, you don't have to drill holes in the wall.

Posted by Angela @ farragio on Sunday, March 5, 2017, In : diy

side tables

These hand-me-down tables from my sister have taken a beating through the years but I figured they still had a lot of life left in them. I've been sprucing up my living room, and with it being a smaller space I knew these narrow tables would work well as end tables but after years of use they were in desperate need of an update.

It was our first time to purchase microfiber and the one thing I didn't consider, and didn't even realize until we got the furniture home is that our dog, Chanel, drools in her sleep. How unladylike! So our options seemed to be either get rid of the furniture (never!), get rid of the d...

4-panel basket

Necessity is the mother of all invention. I was tired of seeing all the charging cords laying on my counter, so I found an old basket in the closet, shoved the cords through the back, and voila. A docking station that took all of 60 seconds to make.

UPDATE A HOLLYWOOD LIGHT STRIP FIXTURE

Posted by Angela @ farragio on Saturday, January 16, 2016, In : diy

hollywood light strip

In an effort to update my bathroom as inexpensively (i.e. cheaply!) as possible I decided to see if I could do something to the outdated Hollywood brass strip light fixture. It was so incredibly easy, I wish I'd done it a long time ago.

INSTRUCTIONS:

NOTE: This project can be completed in a day. It's best to work outside on a sunny day that isn't too windy. If you can't work outside, make sure you're in a well-ventilated area.
  • First remove all the light bulbs, then pull the collar...
